This past weekend, Beto O'Rourke showed off on his livestream some of the skateboarding skills he still has since his teen years. Beto O'Rourke continues to show people that he is a true Texan through and through. Over the weekend on his livestream, O'Rourke was seen heading to the local Whataburger to use a gift card he was given while on the campaign trail. He heads into the eatery amid the usual "Beto" chants he gets to hear, and orders his food while interviewing some of the members of his campaign. In case you're wondering, Beto gets a triple meat Whataburger with cheese. Some people like to know that information.

The part people on the internet are loving is the fact that the video starts out showing the Whataburger parking lot with Beto on a skateboard cruising around the parking lot. The person filming the video states what many of Beto's supporters are saying,

"Beto O'Rourke is on a skateboard, in a Whataburger parking lot on a skatebaord. I don't know if it gets more Beto."

As El Pasoans, we can agree with that statement. Beto has made a connection with the younger voting demographic in Texas, from his past in a punk rock band and his skateboarding abilities fit right into that mold. Only time will tell if his likability will translate over into votes at the poll for the congressman. The Hill is reporting that recent polling shows the race is even tighter now and Beto's opponent Ted Cruz only has a 6 point lead over O'Rourke. After the video began to go viral, Twitter user DonsWaynos decided to take the skateboarding Beto video and turn it into a 90s style skate video that will make you miss the good old days. The internet is loving the video too, with over 1,200 likes and 500 retweets. One Twitter user put it simply "Welp, that's all it took to win my vote," and another "Ted Cruz can't skate." Beto O'Rourke, the Gen Xer that's ready to run Texas, then hopefully the country! Check out the great video above and find out more on the Beto O'Rourke campaign through his website.
