Who doesn't love a good chile relleno? Like, a good chile relleno can change your life. I used to not like them, turned out, I just never actually tried them. They are delicious! Sometimes, though, lazyness hits when I don't feel like making them- it's a long process. Also, it's hard to find a restaurant that makes good chile rellenos. For those on the go, Lay's is now offering a chile relleno chip!

Yes, you read that right, Lay's is now making chile relleno chips!

Lays

Because who doesn't love chips, right? Lay's is always coming up with crazy new flavors- me, myself, I'm a regular flavor lover- I'm a simple person. But I will give Lay's props for constantly innovating their chips. I will admit that the chicken and waffles flavor was actually pretty good. Now, they're debuting not just the chile relleno flavored chips, but four more flavors that are inspired by an iconic dish from a famous restaurant across the nation. The chile relleno flavor is inspired by Cocina Azul in Albuquerque.

The other flavors include:

  • Grimaldi’s Kettle Cooked New York Style Pizza – based on the famous Brooklyn pizza pie.
  • Party Fowl’s Nashville Hot Chicken – inspired by the Music City hot spot.
  • Geno’s Steaks Philly Cheesesteak – inspired by Philadelphia’s iconic cheesesteak hub.
  • El Torito’s Carnitas Street Taco – based on the popular Los Angeles taco joint.

I'm always down to try the new chip flavors! The new chips hit shelves on July 13th! The chile relleno flavor will only be available at Walmart and 7-Eleven stores. Considering we can't do much traveling because of the pandemic, these will have to do in the mean time! Let us know if you try any of them!
