Drafting CeeDee Lamb Considered One of Best Off Season Moves
The 2020 NFL Mock Drafts had the Dallas Cowboys taking a wide variety of players. From edge rushers to offensive linemen. Ultimately when the time came for Dallas to make their selection they went with Oklahoma wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
This was an absolute steal for the Cowboys at this pick as most experts didn't have him falling that far. And when talent falls into your lap like that, you take it. Bleacher Report recently listed their top 25 moves of the NFL off season and the Cowboys drafting CeeDee Lamb makes the list at number 19.
When asked about drafting Lamb, Cowboy's owner Jerry Jones said:
We just didn't want to miss him. Those trades ultimately are supposed to add another player to be valuable, but we couldn't trump him. He was just there.
Put Lamb in with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, the Cowboys have one of the best, young wide receiving cores in the league. And when you look at all the talent that was at the wide receiver position in this year's draft, Lamb could possibly the best.
Henry Ruggs III? You're talking raw speed.
Jerry Jeudy? Fantastic route-running.
But when it comes to CeeDee Lamb, you're getting the closest thing to a complete package that you could in this year's draft. Of course, time will tell whether or not Lamb is able to live up to the hype on the NFL level, but so far, this looks like a major win for the Cowboys and Jerry Jones.
