Federal Judge Approves Vote by Mail in Texas
Being able to vote by mail is a pretty big issue happening right now because COVID-19 landed on a year with a presidential election. There are some people who are very adamantly against it. It's going to ruin the election and open up all kinds of chances at fraud.
Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but some states have been doing vote by mail for awhile and there have been little to no issues. I was born and raised in Oregon and the first few times I voted were by mail. No issues.
Now a Federal Judge, District Judge Fred Biery, just moved Texas toward being able to vote by mail because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The ruling covers people:
who seek to vote by mail to avoid transmission of the virus.
Before this pandemic struck, there were 5 states that allowed voting by mail.
What does our president have to say about mail in ballots?
Mail ballots, they cheat. Mail ballots are very dangerous for this country because of cheaters. They go collect them.
Of course, depending on which side of the aisle you're on most likely dictates whether or not you think mail in voting should be allowed. I have Republican family members who have shared on Facebook how against voting by mail they are and how Oregon should just say no to it. They have apparently missed the fact they've been doing it there for over 20 years.
But what do the numbers say? And I know, depending on how you want to look at the numbers really dictates what the numbers say. But FiveThirtyEight, a statistics website, says that voting by mail doesn't give anyone an advantage. Just CLICK HERE to see what they said.
