Parrots Separated At Wildlife Park After Swearing At People
For me, I would have kept them together since they had such a good time being quarantined with each other. Five African grey parrots are in time out after they continued to berate and swear at visitors and staff of a British wildlife park. The potty-mouthed parrots were donated to the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park a few days prior from different owners.
The bird were all quarantined together according to CNN Travel, before they were placed on display at the animal park. The birds then began hurling swear words at everyone who would pass, including staff and visitors calling them plenty of choice four-letter words. Steve Nichols, the chief executive of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park, said the birds went "ballistic," saying he gets called a fat t**t every time he passes their cage.
The staff decided to move their foul-mouthed feathered friends into separate cages and away from visitors. Nichols says the staff at the zoo were worried that children visitors could pick up some of the bird's bad behaviors aka the cuss words. The five birds- named Eric, Jade, Elsie, Tyson, and Billie- all came from different owners s they don't know which bird introduced the others to the bad words.
According to Nichols, "they literally, within a very short period of time, starting swearing at each other. F**k off' is the most common one (but) it's a very easy one for them to learn." Nichols added that even though the birds show affection to the F- word, they will use "any (cuss) word you can think of."
While most customers found the bad word birds hilarious, they still separated them to hopefully stop them from copying each other's lewd language.
While it may seem shocking to see birds donated that know swear words, Nichols said it's actually common for the park to receive swearing parrots "three or four times a year." Here's to hoping the birds keep their colorful lives alive at the park, but not the potty mouths.
