The Plaza Classic Film Fest of last year was a little different. It went out on tour of El Paso as pop-up drive ins! The El Paso Community Foundation has announced that for this year, the Plaza Classic Film Fest will return to the Plaza Theater this summer!

This year's Plaza Classic Film Fest will take place on July 29th through August 8th- in and around the Plaza Theatre in downtown El Paso. The Plaza Classic Film Fest is great at showing great movies inside the beautiful Plaza Theater as well as the surrounding area; I always love "Rocky Horror Picture Show" being shown outside the Plaza!

COVID safety protocols will be in place this means mandatory mask wearing, social distancing, disinfecting, and seating capacity limits, including assigned “pod” seating to ensure physical distancing. Of course, more details will be given at a later time, but for now, it's a great to hear that this event will be returning for this year, and that it will return to its original home!

The Plaza Classic also hosts local films and is currently accepting entries for its annual "Local Flavor" series. Entry deadline is June 14. Check out plazaclassic.com/localflavor for more info on how you can submit!

The Plaza Classic Film Fest is one of my favorite events in El Paso, I try to attend every year at least one showing of a film! Watching a movie at the Plaza Theater is a wonderful experience!
